It’s not the goal of good lens care to make your contact lenses last longer and it defeats
your purpose to try. It’s important to replace your contact lenses on the schedule
recommended by your eyecare professional and manufacturer. Fortunately, because contact
lenses come in convenient and affordable multipacks, you can replace lenses regularly and
there are distinct advantages to this. Despite your best efforts at proper lens care, there
are persistent microorganisms that can cause eye infections, and replacing lenses daily,
weekly, bi-monthly or monthly is the best way to eliminate the possibility that these
harmful “bugs” can latch onto your contact lenses and irritate or infect your eyes. Also,
replace your lens case regularly, just to eliminate that as a potential source of infection.
Remember the three lens care steps!
Clean, rinse and disinfect your contact lenses each and every time they are
removed from your eyes!
Proper contact lens care promotes eye health!
